Een eenjarig kruid in de familie Apiaceae. Het is ook bekend als Chinese peterselie, dhania of koriander. Alle delen van de plant zijn eetbaar, maar de verse bladeren en de gedroogde zaden (als specerij) zijn de delen die traditioneel het meest worden gebruikt bij het koken. Hoewel sommigen de kenmerkende smaak metaalachtig zullen vinden, is het een belangrijk ingrediënt voor het koken in India en andere delen van Azië.

An annual herb in the family Apiaceae. It is also known as Chinese parsley, dhania or cilantro All parts of the plant are edible, but the fresh leaves and the dried seeds (as a spice) are the parts most traditionally used in cooking. Although some will find it's distinctive taste metallic, it is a key ingredient to cooking across India and other parts of Asia.
