Cascade was a popular fiesta stem-ware produced in the sixties. There is incomplete documentation and so we do not know which designs and colours were in production at which period. Generally speaking, the first range is probably a group of the darker colours (a similar palette to Verboeket's Carnaval), and the lighter colours (using a different colouring technique) probably date to the mid-sixties. Author Daniel Lobaerts concedes 'If there is a label on it, then we can assume it's from de Rupel, BUT we know that there were other very similar designs coming from other factories, so it will be difficult to establish any other examples with certainty. Likewise there is no certainty about the colours, which may have varied during the period.
The identity of the wine glasses in two sizes, and tumblers in two sizes, seems to have been established by comparison (of photos) but the more examples we can find, the more we can 'patch together' the missing catalogue! (So please send photos of any examples you can add to the gallery below.

"The same model was made in other factories albeint with small differences in size and tone'
(Precies van dit model zijn er in andere fabrieken ook gemaakt, doch met kleine verschillen in afmetingen, en harder gekleurd.(Daniel Lombaerts, author of 'Verre de Boom') As the above picture indicates, the method of glass colouring was changed during the production of Cascade.
If you have other designs of glasses which you think could be part of the Cascade series then please let us know!
